On March 1, 2009 I took my refab Blue Trek 850 on a little journey. The bike is set up with 700c x 38mm Schwalbe Marathon Winter studded tires. It's got a cross fork with nice cantis and a crappy rear caliper brake. I rode to the Hyalite Reservoir south of Bozeman. The road there includes a nine mile section with more than 2000 vertical feet of climb. Nothing crazy, just long and steady, and all this on a cold day after a storm with an inch of ice covering the mountain road. It was a blast. And here's a link to my trip on the Trimble Outdoors Allsport GPS website. I logged the journey with my Blackberry using their software. www.trimbleoutdoors.com
